After many wonderful years serving our customers in Southampton, we're excited to share some big news—The Knife Guy is moving to Montgomery Mall!

Our grand opening is Friday, July 3, 2026, and we can't wait to welcome you to our new home. While our location is changing, one thing isn't: you'll continue to receive the same expert sharpening, repairs, honest advice, and 100% satisfaction guarantee you've always expected from The Knife Guy.

Our new shop is conveniently located inside Montgomery Mall, making it easier than ever for customers throughout Montgomery and Bucks Counties to stop by for professional knife sharpening, tool repairs, restorations, and quality cutlery.

New Location:

Montgomery Mall
230 Montgomery Mall
Route 309 & U.S. 202
Montgomeryville, PA 19454

Whether you're a home cook, professional chef, landscaper, woodworker, or simply someone who appreciates a sharp blade, you'll find everything you need at our new location.

Important Dates to Remember

  • Grand Opening: Friday, July 3, 2026
  • Southampton Location: Now closed as we complete our move
  • Going Forward: Montgomery Mall will be our only location for sharpening services, repairs, restorations, and retail sales.

If you currently have items being serviced from our Southampton shop, don't worry—we'll contact you directly with pickup instructions. Any remaining customer items will be safely transferred to the Montgomery Mall location.

Still the Same Expert Service—Now Even More Personal

One exciting part of this move is that John Ketterer, "The Knife Guy," will personally handle every job that comes through the shop.

With more than 13 years of experience, John continues to personally inspect, sharpen, repair, and restore each blade. There are no middlemen, no outsourcing, and no shortcuts—just expert craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Every customer receives:

  • Personalized recommendations
  • Expert sharpening and repairs
  • Honest pricing with no hidden fees
  • Consistent, professional-quality results

Our Services

Professional Knife Sharpening

Whether your favorite chef's knife has lost its edge or your garden tools need fresh sharpening, we can help.

We sharpen:

  • Kitchen knives
  • Serrated knives
  • Scissors and kitchen shears
  • Utility knives
  • Lawn mower blades
  • Hedge trimmers
  • Axes
  • Loppers
  • Professional cutting tools

If it has an edge, chances are we can sharpen it.

Knife & Tool Repairs

Sometimes sharpening alone isn't enough.

We also repair damaged blades by:

  • Restoring broken or bent tips
  • Removing chips from cutting edges
  • Correcting blade geometry
  • Repairing or tightening loose handles

Our goal is to extend the life of your tools whenever possible.

Restoration Services

Have an old knife that's been sitting in a drawer for years? A family heirloom covered in rust?

Our restoration services include:

  • Rust removal
  • Cleaning and polishing
  • Edge restoration
  • Care for vintage and sentimental knives

Many customers are amazed by what can be brought back to life.

Quality Cutlery & Tool Sales

Looking for an upgrade?

We carefully select the knives and cutting tools we sell, focusing on quality, durability, and long-term performance. Rather than selling oversized knife sets, we'll help you choose the tools that actually fit your needs.

Why We're Making the Move

Our Southampton location has been an important part of our journey, and we're incredibly grateful for the support we've received over the years.

Moving to Montgomery Mall allows us to:

  • Offer a more convenient location with easy access from Routes 309 and 202
  • Better serve customers throughout Montgomery and Bucks Counties
  • Provide a dedicated retail and service space designed specifically for professional sharpening and repairs

We're excited for what this next chapter brings.

Getting Ready for Your Visit

To make your visit as smooth as possible, we recommend safely transporting your knives and tools by wrapping blades in cardboard, newspaper, or heavy towels. Secure everything with tape or rubber bands so blades cannot slide out during transport.

If you're bringing in a large order (10 or more items), including a simple inventory list helps speed up the check-in process.

When you arrive, John will inspect each item, explain any recommended repairs, provide upfront pricing, and answer any questions before work begins.

Our Commitment to Quality

Professional sharpening is about much more than grinding metal.

We use specialized equipment and techniques to protect your blade's heat treatment while maintaining precise edge angles from heel to tip. Every tool is cleaned before it's returned, and we're always happy to share maintenance tips to help your edge stay sharper longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my knives be sharpened while I wait?

Depending on our workload, many smaller sharpening jobs can be completed the same day. Since we're located inside Montgomery Mall, you're welcome to shop or grab a bite to eat while we work. Larger restoration or repair projects may require additional time.

Do you sharpen serrated knives?

Absolutely. We use specialized equipment to sharpen individual serrations on bread knives, steak knives, and other serrated blades.

Can you sharpen lawn mower blades?

Yes! We sharpen and balance lawn mower blades to help improve cutting performance and reduce wear on your equipment.

Will you still attend local events?

Yes. We plan to continue attending select events throughout the year. Visit our Events page for the latest schedule. Depending on available power at each event, on-site sharpening may be limited, but we're always happy to inspect blades, answer questions, and provide consultations.

Come Celebrate With Us

We're incredibly grateful for every customer who has trusted us over the years, and we're excited to welcome both familiar faces and new customers to our Montgomery Mall location.

If you've been putting off sharpening your kitchen knives, repairing garden tools, or restoring an old favorite blade, now is the perfect time.

Grand Opening: July 3, 2026

We look forward to seeing you at Montgomery Mall and helping keep your tools performing at their very best.
